12 hours of driving with less than a handful of squabbles between 4 people squished in one tiny car.

3 hour visit where everyone got along and no sibling rivalry emerged.

An unbelievable sunset–the sun was deep, ruby red.

The almost full moon rising large and deep orange and Justin and I watching it turn from deep orange, to orange, to dark yellow, to yellow, to cream, to white and explaining to him why that was and why it looked like the moon was rising into the sky and why it looked like we were following it home. His response, “Mommy, you are soooo super smart–I hope I can be just like you when I get big”.

Texting with my friend, JoMarie, while Jeff drove and laughing at the funniest things she said.

Getting home to find messages from my dear friend from high school who I shared a locker with for a couple years. Melissa pierced my right ear for the second time in her kitchen, shared secrets with me and dreams of our futures, and even double dated to Jr. Prom together. Haven’t seen her in over 20 years. She found me on facebook last week and I found out she was flying into town. Finding her online late that night and making arrangements for her to come over for breakfast the next morning before she flew back.

The anticipation of seeing Melissa after all these years.
